Baptist Evening Fellowship Prepares to Celebrate 100 years

 Submitted by Fannie Bakon

The ministry was organized in 1910 under the pastor age of Rev.G.C. Coleman (1904-1910) .The original name was B.Y.P.U. ( Baptist Young People's Unit) later it was changed to B.T.U.( Baptist Training Unit) and in 1973, it became the Baptist Evening Fellowship whose mission was to train members to become leaders through biblical and spiritual guidance.

Associate Minister Theodore Edmund was the Director. The mission of the current Baptist Evening Fellowship is to provide opportunities for the congregation, friends and community of Mount Carmel Baptist Church to socialize and fellowship together in a Christian atmosphere. The International Tea the third Sunday in November showcases a fellowship of praise and culinary skills featuring foods from different cultures and on the second Saturday in February there is a social event celebrating love for mankind called " A Legacy of Love".
